So when outlast two came out and it went on sale, my wife bought it for me as a gift. There was no where to really take that ending, and it wasn't very good to begin with, relying on cop out tropes rather than immersive storytelling, so continuing it wouldn't have made for a decent story at all. When they said it was the same universe but a completely different story I was more psyched. While I admit that I hated the ending of Outlast, I thought the game itself was fantastic, so when they announced the sequel I was psyched. Amnesia was tense and terrifying, Soma was dark and alien, and Outlast was this perfect balance of both.
